Why Is Dandelion Good for Us?

Dandelion is widely used as a natural treatment for common ailments such as tonsillitis, diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders.

Although there is little scientific research to support these claims, many people prefer to opt for a natural treatment rather than conventional medicine simply because it is easily accessible and presents fewer side effects.

In terms of their nutritional value, they are a great source of vitamins A, K, and C, as well as containing smaller amounts of B vitamins.

The reason why this plant works so well at treating certain conditions is because it provides many different essential minerals to the body.

Although it’s frequently consumed as a tea, dandelion tea can also be use topically with wonderful results if washing hair or applied to skin.

There’s some research to suggest that dandelion can protect the skin from skin damage, which in turn, can act as an anti-ageing treatment.

Benefits of Using Dandelion Tea For Hair

As well as being an excellent skincare treatment, dandelion tea provides many benefits to the hair and scalp. The flower is packed full of all the essential vitamins and minerals that you need.

Here are some of the main ways that you will benefit from washing your hair in dandelion tea.

Promotes Hair Growth

As dandelion is rich in so many vitamins, it’s a great treatment for stimulating hair growth.

Scalp care is essential when you want your hair to grow a bit faster than usual. Some try alternative methods such as using sparkling water on their scalp, whilst others focus on sealing their hair for length retention instead.

There are many methods to encourage hair growth, but vitamins are key, such as those derived from dandelions.

When used topically on the scalp, these vitamins can help to repair the follicles and stimulate scalp circulation. Washing your hair with dandelion tea can therefore lead to accelerated hair growth and renewed strength.

You may notice fewer tangles and split ends when this treatment is used frequently as the overall condition of the hair and scalp will be healthier and cleaner.

Treats Scalp Conditions

Washing hair with dandelion tea is very soothing on the scalp, which can help to treat an itchy or overly sensitive scalp.

Most scalp conditions are caused by inflammation which can take place anywhere in the body but of course, it can spread to the scalp and cause redness. An itchy scalp can also be caused by outside factors such as calcium build-up from hard water.

Using dandelion tea as a topical treatment may help to relieve any frequent itching and redness.

Combats Dandruff

Washing hair in dandelion tea is a great way to relieve stubborn dandruff and symptoms of a dry scalp.

Dandruff is often caused by excess grease that collects on the scalp, which can also make hair feel flat and lifeless because too much oil tends to weigh the hair down.

To avoid this, the hair and scalp need sufficient vitamins to balance the oil and prevent flakes from forming.

As dandelion is rich in vitamin A and iron, this helps to regulate and prevent dandruff in the future.

You could also try lemongrass tea which is also said to help combat dandruff.

Cleanses Hair

Did you know that washing your hair in Dandelion tea can act as a gentle clarifying treatment?

Although it’s a milder solution, it works well at removing product build up and eliminating excess oil and debris.

It doesn’t strip the hair because it’s an incredibly natural product, but it does rebalance the sebum on the scalp and leave you with thoroughly cleansed hair.

While Dandelion tea has many benefits, it’s not suitable for anyone who is allergic to chrysanthemums, daises, and marigolds.

You should also avoid this if you suffer from a ragweed allergy.
