A man recently told a story on Reddit about how his brother ruined his wedding by proposing to his girlfriend. However, the groom was already aware of his plan, so he engineered a genius plan.
Here’s what happened.
The groom explains that he was looking forward to his wedding but was concerned about his younger brother Todd. Their parents had always favored him over the groom and the sister Abby.
They had a complicated birth with Todd, which may explain it, but the groom and the sister had a different relationship with their parents because of it.
Todd was in the habit of ruining other people’s big ‘life moments.’ At Abby’s baby shower, straight after she announced the gender, Todd revealed to everyone that he and his girlfriend were expecting. They completely stole Abby’s thunder.
So, the groom was worried that Todd might do something similar at his wedding, but seeing as he was family, he had to be invited.
Now, the best man Jim had always had the groom’s back, and while Jim was out with Todd one day, he noticed a jewelry receipt slip out of his pocket. It was for a ring!
Jim confronted Todd about it, but he wouldn’t reveal much detail. Jim then told the groom, who was sure Todd would propose on his wedding day. The groom then informed Tood that he would no longer be a groomsman. He said, “Todd cried to our parents, which led to a “blowout.
The groom’s parents felt that he was being too harsh, and Todd had not actually said he would propose on the day of the wedding, but they did get Todd to agree to not ‘pull any stunts.’
The groom assured Todd that he would take revenge if he did.

The wedding day came, and things seemed to be going just fine at first. Then, suddenly, during the father-daughter dance, Todd walks over to his girlfriend and proposes in front of everyone!
The groom was livid; he was sure this would happen! However, he knew just how to get his revenge.
Before the wedding, Jim and the groom had hired a woman to pretend to be Todd’s sidepiece. She cornered Tood and his girlfriend and said she was pregnant with his baby.
The groom said, “Todd denied this, but when she called his phone, I gave her his number and messed with Todd’s phone to incriminate him; it didn’t look good. Lucy threw the ring back at Todd and left in tears.”
Todd looked at the groom and knew it was his fault, but what could he do?
The groom went on his honeymoon and didn’t speak to Todd or his parents until he returned home. Todd’s girlfriend kicked him out and demanded that the groom set the record straight.
Although the sister, Abby, thinks the groom took it too far, he doesn’t regret his actions. Even his wife was OK with it since Todd ruined her father-daughter dance.
