He Screamed at His Pregnant Fiancé for Not Wanting To Help Him Find His Missing Dog

A guy recently asked the Internet if he was wrong for screaming at his pregnant fiancé for not helping him find his missing dog.

Here’s what the man had to say.

His dog is a six-year-old Heeler/Corgi mix, and it runs off at least once a week.

Usually, his fiancé helps him find the dog, but it does take some convincing.

The man didn’t even know how his dog was getting out of their fenced yard, so he installed cameras and discovered that the dog was scaling the 8 ft fence.

He attached spinners to the top of the fence, hoping that this would solve the problem, but it didn’t.

Recently, his dog was at it again.

“I brought her out and was playing with her when my phone rang. I was inside just long enough to grab my phone, and my dog had gotten out,” the man said.

He immediately went searching for her, thinking that she probably wouldn’t have gone too far, but he couldn’t find her anywhere. So he went back into the house and asked his fiancé, sitting on the sofa, to come and help him.

She said ‘no’ straight away and said that she was tired of chasing the dog and didn’t want to deal with it anymore. She told him that he should be more careful and that he should have been watching her in the garden.

“I explained to her that I had been watching her and simply stepped away for two seconds to grab my phone, just inside the sliding door, and she had escaped,” the man explained.

But his girlfriend said it wasn’t her problem and she was too tired to look for his dog.

The guy wasn’t completely surprised because, in the past, she hadn’t really wanted to go and help him search, but she never said no. She just always complained.

So the guy went searching for his dog again, and about half an hour later, he came back and asked his girlfriend to help.

But the girlfriend had had enough. She snapped, “I said no! I am so tired of chasing that dog around multiple times a week when I’m already exhausted and throwing up constantly.”

The guy got angry and started yelling at his girlfriend, calling her names and telling her that she lacked empathy. He also told her that he was very disappointed to be with someone so heartless.

The guy now realizes that his words were harsh and has apologized. But after he found his dog, his girlfriend was still angry with him and now refuses to talk to him.

So the man asked the Reddit community if he was wrong for asking his pregnant fiancé to come to look for the dog. He said everyone he knows is on his side except his sister, who told him it’s not his fiancé’s responsibility to chase his dog.

One user said, “why haven’t you put a harness on the dog and put a leash on it? They make leashes that spin around so the dog can go multiple directions? This way, you can turn say and not worry about your dog taking off.”

Another said, “there are so many solutions to this issue. Every week? Fiancée gets credit for helping out this long. And when the baby comes, and the dog gets out, will OP be mad that she chooses to stay with the baby rather than go on yet another dog hunt?? YTA. Fix this problem.”

What do you think? Can the man expect his fiancé to help him look for his dog every time it runs out?
