Her Boyfriend Wouldn’t Move Out of the House After Having an Affair, so She Outsmarted Him by Moving In To Live With Him and His New Girlfriend

A woman recently posted a story on Reddit about her best friend who outsmarted a lying, cheating ex-boyfriend.

Here’s what she had to say.

Her friend’s grandfather had died. She was very close to him, and he left her £25000. She and her boyfriend decided to use the money to buy a house together as they had been together for three years and had a 1-year-old.

They had talked about buying a house for a while, and because her boyfriend couldn’t afford a deposit, he agreed that she would put down the £25000, and then they would get a joint mortgage for the remainder. He would then pay the first two years of mortgage repayments to make their contributions equal.

Fast forward 18 months, the woman finds out that her boyfriend has been having an affair for over a year and had brought the other woman home to their house while she was working. To make things worse, she’s a nurse and does night shifts, so he brought the other woman home while his daughter was sleeping in her room!

The woman was devastated and angry, and although she realizes now that she should have kicked him to the curb, she couldn’t handle the thought that the other woman had been in her house. So she packed a bag and left with her daughter and went to her mother’s house.

A few weeks later, after seeing clearly again and realizing the reality of the situation, she immediately told her boyfriend that they had to sell the house because she wanted her £25000 deposit back.

As it turns out, the cheating ex-boyfriend hadn’t paid for all of the mortgage repayments as they had agreed. He had only paid the monthly mortgage amount out of his wage about three or four times before they ended up just splitting the bills.

In a surprise twist, the ex-boyfriend told the woman that his new girlfriend had already moved into the house and that her only choice was to buy him out of his half because he was not leaving.

He also threatened her and told her she had no legal leg to stand on if she expected a bigger share of the house sale. He said that her bigger contribution, the deposit, wasn’t documented and that “she shouldn’t expect much money back anyway, even if she could make him sell because he was entitled to 50-50,”.

The woman was furious, but after stewing for a few days, she devised a plan.

She waited for her next midweek day off and went to the house at a time when she knew that the horrible ex and his new girlfriend were at work.

She got her family to help her move a bed and a wardrobe into the second bedroom of the house, which at the time was her daughter’s room.

When the ex-boyfriend and the new girlfriend returned home later that day, they were shocked to find her and her daughter sitting on the sofa watching TV!

“How she managed to live in that house for A MONTH with her ex and his mistress/girlfriend and not blow up is beyond me!” her friend said.

She simply pretended that they were not there, and as they got more uncomfortable and awkward, they eventually gave in and left.

The Reddit community had a lot to say about this one.

One user wrote, “that is petty to such a level that it is evil. Her house, her name on the title, can’t be kicked out, not trespassing with nerves of steel…..I would not have been able to manage it.”

Another said, “the other woman must have been a real piece of work to actually stick around once she realized what the situation was. She sounds super gross.”

Would you have been able to do what this woman did?
