There’s really nothing worse than crossing paths with a rude or entitled person, but what do you do when that person is at the airport and holding up an entire place?
Well, that is exactly what happened recently at Cabo airport when two entitled ladies decided they wanted a cup of coffee before boarding.
Alex, a TikTok user, shared a story about when she encountered ‘the most Karen-like ladies’ she’d ever met. She had been scrolling through her feed and noticed a video highlighting the worst kinds of travelers. So she wanted to add her story to the mix.
Alex says that she and her mom were flying back from Cabo to Dallas, and they were at the airport waiting for their flight.
Alex was standing at a Starbucks waiting to get a drink. The Starbucks was conveniently placed next to a few gates so that passengers could get a refreshment while waiting.
As Alex was queuing for her beverage, she noticed the gate attendant calling for two ladies on the loudspeaker. The gate attendant called for their names again, but the missing passengers did not come forward. At that moment, Alex realized that the two women were in the queue at Starbucks!
When the flight attendant asked them to board the plane, one of the women said: “No, we can’t get on the plane. Are you kidding me? I have to have my Starbucks.”
Alex couldn’t believe what she was hearing and was clearly annoyed with the two ladies in her video. She explained that they held up the plane for more than five minutes because they needed their Starbucks, making the pilot, the crew, and all the other passengers wait.
Alex said that ladies kept repeating the same thing to the gate attendant, “you can’t leave without us. Do you know who I am”? in an angry and condescending tone.
All the people who stood near the gate were appalled at how the ladies were acting; some even thought something might have been wrong with them. Alex said: “Everyone was watching them thinking, are you actually OK”?

She had never heard anyone speak so rudely to an airport person before, and all because they wanted a Starbucks before boarding the plane!
She said they should have been smarter about it, gotten their Starbucks before the gate started boarding and that their behavior was completely unacceptable.
The entitled traveler stories are unfortunately not uncommon.
