She Kicked Out All of Her Guests When She Found Out One of Them Had Brought Fish Into the House Which She Was Severely Allergic To

What would you do if you discovered that one of your guests had brought food to your house that you were severely allergic to?

That is exactly what happened to this woman, and her guests think she handled the situation badly.

Here’s what she had to say.

The woman recently hosted a party where she made it clear to everyone attending that she had a severe fish allergy.

“So if you’re going to bring food, don’t bring fish,” she told her guests.

Unfortunately for the woman, it looked like her warning had fallen on deaf ears as one of her guests brought fish into her kitchen.

For the first 40 minutes or so, everything seemed fine. The woman was unaware that there was fish inside her house because she had been outside the entire time.

After a little while, she went inside to use the bathroom and instantly noticed the smell of fish.

“I immediately went to the kitchen and told the person cooking the fish to get it out of my house and reminded everyone of my food allergy. A lot of the other people there were already eating some of the fish, so now my whole house is contaminated with fish because people were touching it everywhere,” she said.

The guy who brought the fish, David, said, “oh, you told me a month ago about your allergy. You should’ve reminded people,” and brushed her off.

She then told him that she had sent everyone a text two days prior reminding them. He said he didn’t receive the text.

The woman was furious, but even more so, she was panicking. She didn’t have her EpiPen, which she would normally use for severe allergic reactions.

She also realized that she had eaten some of the food that was cooked in her kitchen, food that may have been contaminated with fish.

The woman was flustered and immediately kicked everyone out of her party, even though it was still very early on in the night. A lot of them had traveled quite far, but at this point, she couldn’t think about anyone else except for herself.

“Some of the guests got pissed off, saying I could just get rid of the fish, and they all could wash their hands, and I could just chill outside until the fish smell went away,” the woman said.

The woman couldn’t believe how relaxed they all were about the situation, and she told them they could blame David for almost killing her.

They felt that she was overreacting, which maybe she was, but she was so angry that David had brought fish into a house, knowing that she could fall very ill.

The woman yelled and screamed for everyone to leave, and most of her friends told her that she had ruined the party. They weren’t the ones that brought the fish!

“[they said I] treated David too harshly because it was an honest mistake, and they recorded me yelling at him, which I honestly feel guilty about,” the woman said.

So she asked Reddit if she was in the wrong for kicking everyone out of her party.

One user wrote, “NTA. You know what else would be ruining the party? You going in to anaphylactic shock in front of everybody because you accidentally ate something contaminated with fish. Also, hospital visits are not cheap. Maybe get some new friends who are more considerate.”

Another said, “EVERYONE was informed. Anyone who partook in eating the fish without questioning it or reminding the guy who brought it was just as guilty.”

Do you think the woman overreacted?
