The Groom Wouldn’t Allow the Wedding Photographer To Eat So She Deleted All the Photos

A woman recently told the story of how she was hired to take photos on her friend’s big day but that she wasn’t allowed to take a break to eat. She became so enraged that she ended up deleting all the wedding photos.

Here’s what happened.

The woman starts her story by saying that she’s not really a photographer. She’s a dog groomer and enjoys taking photos of the dogs after their appointment. She then posts the photos on Facebook and Instagram. It’s kind of her ‘thing,’ and the pictures always come out nice.

One day, her friend asks her if she will be the photographer at his upcoming wedding. The couple was trying to save money and didn’t care too much if the photos were not perfect.

“I told him it’s not really my forte,” the woman said, but she agreed to shoot the wedding for $250. The wedding was a 10-hour ordeal, so she felt that this was a very reasonable price.

Fast forward to the day of the wedding. The woman shows up around 11 am and is due to finish at 7.30 pm. She follows the bride throughout the day during all of her appointments and shoots the ceremony, the speeches, and people mingling.

The problem begins around 5 pm when the dinner is being served. The groom tells the photographer that she can’t stop to take a bite to eat because she needs to be on duty. There wasn’t even a place for her at the table to eat.

The woman starts regretting her decision as she’s tired and the venue is very hot without any AC. Not to mention, $250 for 10 hours isn’t much for a so-called photographer.

The woman explains to the groom that she’ll need a 20-minute break to get something to eat and drink. The groom denies her the break and the woman says: “he tells me I need to either be a photographer or leave without pay.”

The woman is stunned and exhausted and decides she’s had enough. She asks the groom, “are you sure about that” to which the groom says, “yes.”

And so, the woman proceeded to delete ALL of the wedding photos in front of the guy and said: “I took off saying I’m not his photographer anymore.”

There was no open bar at the wedding, and the woman couldn’t even get her two water bottles filled up.

She said: “honestly, at that point, I would have paid $250 just for a glass of cold water and somewhere to sit for 5min.”

After the wedding, the woman didn’t speak to the couple but noticed that a lot of people asked them for their wedding photos on social media.

The woman asked the Reddit community if she was in the wrong, but most of them agreed with her.

One user said: “They seriously expected her to work 8.5 hours without food, with little water and no break. While let’s be honest, she was doing this as a favor and not cause of the money.”

Another wrote: “At my wedding I fed the photographer and his wife (she helps him) and the guitar player from the reception as a courtesy and thank you on top of their pay. It cost me another £250 or so and was well worth it.”

A third noted: “My photographer had it in her contract that she and her assistant got a meal and time to eat, and we were happy to give it to them.”

What do you think about the photographer’s actions? Was she in the right to delete the photos? Should the couple have given her a full meal?
